At the largest gathering of Filipino architects (8,000+ attendees), Douglas presented “How Game Engines are Transforming Architecture” to over 2,000 participants— demonstrating how tools like Unreal Engine and Twinmotion are revolutionizing visualization, workflows, and collaboration in the built environment.

SPARKS International Conference 2024

As a plenary speaker, Douglas joined global leaders to deliver “Creating the Metaverse: Developing Virtual Versions of ActualWorlds.” With 300+ attendees from Canada, New Zealand, the U.S., the U.K., and Southeast Asia, the session showcased real-time asset pipelines, generative AI, and interactive world-building for education, entertainment, and research.

The University of Hong Kong (HKU)

At Asia’s top-ranked university (ranked 1st in Hong Kong and 17th globally in the 2025 QS World University Rankings), Douglas ledimmersive workshops and a keynote titled “Building the Metaverse: Real-Time Power and Procedural Magic.” Staff and students explored Unreal Engine and Houdini to understand how real-time workflows and procedural design shape the next generation of immersive content and digital storytelling.

Epic Games | Unreal Educator Summit (ASEAN/ANZ/APAC)

Douglas served as the Mandarin-language instructor and speaker for Epic’s regional Unreal Educator Summit—designed to onboard and upskill educators in virtual production. This summit featured technical deep dives, best practices, and take-home kits (including project files, learning materials, and video content), helping teachers integrate Unreal Engine into modern curricula and understand emerging roles in creative technology.
